Salt Chlorinator Aquarite NG HC Low Salt Hayward. Low Salinity Chlorinator
Disinfects and treats your pool water with unbeatable results.
The salt chlorinator Hayward Low Salt Aquarite allows to produce chlorine with practically imperceptible levels of salt. Hydrolysis, the process of producing disinfectant from water, is one of the most powerful bactericidal and virucidal processes, which guarantees a particularly high level of disinfection with a minimum level of salt.
Thanks to its chlorine+hydrolysis production system, the Aquarite LT Low Salt generates more disinfectant hydroxyls than those produced by a normal salt chlorinator.
This salt chlorinator is the ideal equipment for the user who is looking for a high performance electrolysis equipment, a panel with a visible and easy to manage display, the optional control of redox and pH, and the disinfection by hydrolysis or low salinity salt chlorination systems.
This salt chlorinator is easy to use, it has a closed cover detection system, salt concentration calculation, automatic pH management system (optional) and Kit Redox system to regulate the chlorine concentration (also optional). It allows a visual and intuitive production control thanks to its transparent cell, which allows to know when the cell needs to be cleaned of scale.
It shares features with the Sugar Valley Oxilife, so it can be an excellent alternative to replace one equipment for another in case of need of renovation.

What makes the low salinity Aquarite HC LS different?
Aquarite HC LS and Sugar Valley Oxilife are based on two types of disinfection: hydrolysis and low salinity salt chlorination.
Hydrolysis
Water consists of hydrogen and oxygen (H₂O). In a hydrolysis system applied to swimming pools, an electric current flows through the water and causes electrochemical reactions in the electrodes. As a result, oxidizing species of high disinfectant capacity are generated. This additional disinfection capacity is especially useful in times of high bather load, high water temperature or inadequate balance due to rain or external elements.
In simplified form, the process involves the release of gases (hydrogen at the cathode and oxygen at the anode) and, in parallel, the formation of reactive species such as oxygen radicals/ions such as ozone (O₃), monoatomic oxygen (O₁) and hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), as well as one of the most disinfectant elements known, the hydroxyl radical (OH-).
These species contribute to:
- Oxidize dissolved organic matter.
- Reduce bacterial load and other microorganisms.
- Improve water clarity and reduce unwanted by-products.
Low-salinity salt chlorination
By adding a small amount of salt to the water (approx. 1-2 g/L), the unit can generate chlorine by electrolysis at low salinity. This provides a residual level of disinfectant that helps to keep the water continuously protected.
The chlorine generated acts by eliminating microorganisms and oxidizing contaminants. After reacting, it is transformed back into salts, closing the cycle (with occasional replenishment due to water loss, filter washing, etc.). By working with low salt concentration, a balance between bather comfort and disinfection efficiency is sought.
