pH electrode for swimming pool. Universal BNC probe with 6 meters of cable.
It offers better measurement quality than other probes manufactured in Asia.
Our pH probe compatible with all BNC metering pumps is an essential tool for those who require accurate and reliable pH measurements in a variety of applications, from swimming pools to aquariums and water filtration systems.
What makes this pool pH electrode different?
This pH sensor is designed to provide accurate and reliable measurements over a pH range of 0 to 14, with a rugged polypropylene (PP) housing, and a solid electrolyte that ensures operation in high pressure conditions up to 6 bar. Its design includes a 6 meter coaxial cable with universal BNC connector, ideal for various industrial and laboratory applications.
It has a 6m connection cable and a total electrode size from tip to cable of approximately 15cm. These 5 meters of cable distinguish it from other more economical probes that incorporate 1m of cable.
This is an excellent quality probe, manufactured in Europe, which allows an accurate measurement of the pH level. There are much cheaper electrodes, but with worse measurement quality. Our pH electrode has a high quality filament encapsulated with electrode holder liquid to make the probe completely watertight.
This pH electrode is designed to work with pH meters that have a standard BNC connector, and is suitable for most pool dosing pumps on the market.
It is compatible with the Idegis H-035-9000 pH probe. Compatible with Etatron AEL0004921NA pH electrodes. It is also compatible with BSV pH dosing systems such as the BSV EVO. It is also compatible with Hayward Aquarite, Kripsol KLX or Sugar Valley pH measurement systems.
Installation. How to install the pH probe correctly?
The universal pool pH electrode is extremely simple to install. It comes pre-calibrated from the factory, with a liquid cap to keep the probe fully operational.
To install, you only have to turn off the pool pump, close the return and suction valves, unscrew the old electrodes holder, put the new probe in the middle of the pipe, and close the electrodes holder again without applying pressure, as they are very sensitive measuring parts and any additional pressure can cause the inner filament to break, making the probe unusable.
All pH probes are electrodes subject to wear and tear with a life span varying from 6 months to 2 years depending on water quality, frequency of calibration, winter maintenance and the type of equipment they work with.
It is strongly recommended not to perform intense shock chlorination with the pH electrode in the pipeline, as this may irreversibly damage the measurement quality. It is also recommended not to over-tighten the electrode holder on the tubing, since in case of rupture of the sheath, the electrode becomes completely useless.

Tips for use and storage
- Storage: Prevent the sensor from drying out during short-term storage by keeping it in tap water or water with a pH of 7; never store it in distilled water.
- Warning: Do not use at negative pressure. Do not allow the sensor to dry out. Do not use at temperatures below freezing.
- Warning: The universal pH probe is an element subject to wear and tear with a life span that varies depending on different aspects (maintenance, periodic calibration, water quality, chemical treatment…). Sometimes they work for a few months and sometimes they can work for years with proper maintenance. There is no probe on the market that guarantees 3 years of operation.
- Warning: The pH probe is a fragile element. It should not be forced, especially not squeezed with force, as it may break the outer sheath, rendering the product irreparably unusable.
- Warning: The pH electrode should not be subjected to chemicals. If you are going to superchlorinate, add chlorine stabilizer or use pH reducers, make sure that the electrode is not inserted into the pipe.
How to keep the pH probe in good condition? PoolComet Tips
The pH and Redox electrodes are high-precision components and require specific care to ensure reliable readings and prolong their life. Before installation or replacement, always follow these recommendations:
1. Preparation
- Carefully remove the protective layer.
- Rinse the electrode tip with clean water.
- Do not touch the sensing tip with your hands, as this may alter its sensitivity.
2. Calibration
- Always use clean and fresh calibration solutions.
- Avoid rubbing the probe when drying it; it may generate electrostatic charge and cause erroneous readings.
- Follow the calibration instructions on the corresponding control panel.
3. Cleaning and Storage
- Clean the electrodes when measurements are slow or unstable.
- Always keep the sensor bulb moist in the appropriate storage solution (never in distilled water).
- Avoid extremely acidic or alkaline solutions for long periods.
- Avoid performing shock chlorination with the probe in the hydraulic circuit, as this significantly shortens its service life.
4. Cleaning and Storage
- The electrodes undergo natural aging, even with proper use.
- The average lifespan is 3 to 18 months, depending on the type of use and maintenance, as well as the frequency of calibration.
5. Avoid using distilled water with pH probes.
- Do not use distilled water to store the pH probe. The absence of salts in distilled water causes a gradual loss of the internal electrolyte and can damage the glass bulb and the reference junction, resulting in unstable or incorrect measurements. Distilled water should only be used for a brief rinse; to store the probe, always use a specific storage solution containing KCl.
