The new Hayward SP0715XR50E 2″ diatomaceous earth filter valve is a six-way valve that allows you to control the flow of water in a Pro-Grid diatomaceous earth filter.

With this valve, you can choose between the following functions: filter, wash, rinse, recirculate, empty and close. This way, you can optimize the filter performance and keep the water clean and crystal clear.

It has an ergonomic design and its large handle makes it easy to use. Its body is made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic, which gives it great strength and durability. And of course, its compatibility with the Pro-Grid diatomaceous earth filters from Hayward, which are among the most efficient and environmentally friendly on the market.

This is a replacement valve compatible for the following Hayward Pro-grid Diatome Filter models: DE4820, DE6020, DE7220.

Why did the pool filter valve break when I made the connections?

Pool filter valves—and any component with a female thread—require a male threaded connection. Sometimes, by mistake, users apply too much Teflon tape to the male thread, exerting excessive pressure on the female thread and causing the body where the female thread is located to break. It is recommended to apply a small amount of Teflon thread tape to the male thread to ensure a tight seal without damaging the female thread.
