Celite 545 for swimming pool filters is a high quality diatomaceous earth filter media specifically designed for use in swimming pool water filtration. Provides excellent water clarity by filtering particles down to 2 microns in diameter.

Diatomaceous earth filters are the filter media that provides the best water clarity of all existing filters due to the fineness of the diatomaceous sand.

Celite 545 diatomaceous earth is composed of the skeletal remains of aquatic microorganisms called diatoms. The remains of these diatoms of marine origin with a great diversity of forms, establish diatomaceous earth deposits that are then extracted, crushed and dried until a powder is obtained, and finally calcined by heating them to temperatures above 1000°C.

Celite 545 improves filter operation by precoating quickly and effectively, which increases the efficiency of your filter. By removing particles down to two microns in diameter from the water, it provides optimum clarity while filtering out the most potentially harmful bacteria.

Diatomaceous sand is a mineral of vegetable origin, completely harmless as it belongs to the amorphous silica group, formed by the accumulation of algae on the seabed, fossilized over millions of years.

In order to achieve greater permeability, a flux is added to this diatomite before calcination, which allows it to obtain larger particle size and, therefore, a more permeable material.

Thanks to its high porosity and small size, it can filter particles down to 2 microns (0.0002 mm). Celite 545 Diatomaceous Earth comes in 22.7 kg paper bags and has a special permeability for pool filters that use this material as a filter bed.
