The 6-way valve Classic screws 1 1/2 Astral Pool is one of the most prestigious pool filter valves ever designed. After more than 30 years of operation, it is a reliable and robust valve for side connection. Incorporates connections to filter, fittings and transparent sight glass.

Valve 00599 is a model phased out in 2024 and replaced by an improved version with better hydraulics known as Classic Plus Valve, fully compatible in performance and connections and replaceable with 00599 without modification of any kind.

The 00599 has six positions to perform the following functions in the hydraulic circuit: Filtration: the water passes through the filter and comes out clean into the pool. Washing: the water enters through the lower part of the filter and exits through the upper part, dragging the dirt accumulated in the sand to the pool drain. Rinsing: the water enters through the upper part of the filter and exits through the lower part, eliminating the remains of dirt from the washing. Recirculation: the water circulates through the valve without passing through the filter, useful for mixing chemicals or heating the water. Emptying: the water flows directly through the valve without passing through the filter, useful for emptying the pool or filter. Closed: the water is shut off, useful for preventing leaks, winterizing the pool or making repairs.

The Astral Pool 6-Way Classic Screw 1 1/2″ Valve is made of strong and durable materials, such as ABS and has a maximum working pressure of 3.5 kg/cm2 and a functional design that ensures perfect sealing and easy handling. It includes a sight glass that allows you to see the status of the water during washing and rinsing operations.

The AstralPool Valve 00599 Classic screw 1 1/2″ Astral Pool is compatible with AstralPool filters up to 650 mm diameter. It is a high quality selector valve that guarantees optimum operation and performance of your filtration system.

How to disassemble the selector valve AstralPool pool.

With the Filtration pump stopped and the Pool filtration system valves closed, use a rubber boa wrench to loosen the fittings. To install the new valve, remove the old Teflon from the filter connections, add new Teflon tape (3 turns with tension is sufficient), and tighten the connections.

The 00599 valve with fittings is “type 3” according to the AstralPool catalog. It has “top” inlet connections on one side and “bottom” outlet at the base of the valve.

My pool filter selector valve broke when I made the connections. What could be the reason for this?

Pool filter valves—and any component with a female thread—require a male threaded connection. Sometimes, by mistake, users apply too much Teflon tape to the male thread, exerting excessive pressure on the female thread and causing the body where the female thread is located to break. It is recommended to apply a small amount of Teflon thread tape to the male thread to ensure a tight seal without damaging the female thread.
