Phosphate meter Aquachek

The phosphate test of Aquachek is a solution that allows to analyze the level of phosphate in the water. Phosphates accumulate over time in the pool water as a result of the accumulation of organic matter. Dead algae, sweat, leaves, branches or even fertilizers cause the phosphate level in the water to increase.

This solution from Aquachek allows you to know the level of phosphates in your pool water. In this way, you prevent the development of algae and accumulation of organic matter that can lead to a high level of phosphates and therefore increased fouling.

The Hach – AquaChek “One-Minute Phosphate Test” provides a phosphate result between 0-1,000 ppb, allowing you to adjust and control phosphates in your water, which should ideally not exceed 100-125ppb.

This phosphate analyzer can be used for both initial pool water treatment and periodic maintenance. Applying the phosphate analyzer and removing phosphates from your pool will allow you to make less use of anti-algae chemicals to make your pool cleaner and healthier.

How to use the phosphate meter Aquachek One minute phosphate check?

Flush the test tube with water. Fill it to the top line with pool water. Pour the contents of one powder sachet into the test tube. Close the tube tightly and shake gently for 1 minute to dissolve the powder. Remove the cap from the test tube. Hold the tube near the color chart provided, next to the color blocks. Look through the tube and compare the color of the liquid with the different color charts until you find the best match. You must do this within two minutes of opening to get an accurate phosphate level in parts per billion (ppb).
What are phosphates in a swimming pool and why are they important?

Phosphates in a swimming pool are chemical compounds that contain phosphorus, an essential nutrient for algae growth. Although not directly detrimental to swimmers’ health, phosphates can trigger algae growth in pool water if present at elevated levels. This can result in cloudy, greenish, unpleasant water, requiring more effort and chemicals to keep the pool clean and healthy.
What is the maximum phosphate level in a swimming pool?

In general it is recommended not to exceed 100-125 ppb of phosphates. To reduce them, an antiphosphate liquid product can be used following the manufacturer’s instructions.
