What is low salinity hydrolysis+salt chlorination and what is its advantage?
Low salinity salt chlorination produces, in addition to pure chlorine, other types of disinfectants thanks to hydrolysis, a process in which water is decomposed by the combination of electrolysis and mineral conductivity in the water.
The electric current separates the water molecules (H2O) into hydrogen and oxygen. This generates oxygen ions at the anode and hydrogen ions at the cathode. That is, the atoms are separated from the water. In addition to the production of hydrogen and oxygen, hydrolysis also generates other ionic species with highly oxidizing and disinfecting properties such as ozone (O3], oxygen molecule (O) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).
By producing these natural disinfectants, hydrolysis is effective in killing microorganisms and removing organic contaminants from water that chlorine alone cannot destroy.
It is also a highly effective system in high temperature pools, since chlorine is less active at temperatures above 25ºC.
