When might this cable be needed?

This cable may be required when replacing an older SSC cell or retrofitting to pre-2017 Emaux equipment. In these models, the cell connection does not always match the connection used in the latest versions, so the right cable is essential to ensure compatibility.

Important note on connection on models 2017 onwards.

As of 2017, Emaux SSC salt chlorinators upgraded the terminal connection to a Weipu SP21 round connector. For this reason, before replacing the cell or cable, it is important to check the type of connection of your equipment.

If your SSC chlorinator is pre-2017 and uses direct-connected wiring, it may be necessary to use this cable to ensure proper installation. In case of doubt, we recommend to visually check the actual cell connection or consult our team before purchasing.

How do I know if the electrodes have reached the end of their service life?

The chlorinator will not be able to increase the chlorine production above 10% or 20% even if we try to increase the production from the menu.

How can I extend the life of the salt chlorinator cell SSC Mini?

There are several useful tips for extending electrode life:

Extend the frequency of polarity changes. The more frequent the polarity change, the shorter the life of the electrolysis cell. A polarity change of less than 4 hours will be one of the main causes of cell life reduction. If the water of your pool does not have much calcium hardness, we recommend that this change of polarity is between 6h and 8h to maintain the cell clean and to lengthen the useful life. In the salt chlorinator Innowater SMC you can modify the frequency of polarity change in option 2 of the menu.
Clean the electrodes at least once a year, with specific products such as ACTI liquid cell cleaner.
Close the chlorinator bypass when you are flushing the filter. This will reduce the dirt that we bring to the salt chlorinator cell.
Remove the cell in winterizing. When the water temperature drops, there is a noticeable decrease in the conductivity of the water. This lower water conductivity will be compensated by the salt chlorinator by increasing the electrical intensity. This increase in intensity shortens the life of the chlorinator.
