Replacing the cell in time prevents damage to the chlorinator power supply. If your chlorine production has dropped drastically or the “Low Salt” indicator lights up even though you have the correct salt, it’s time to change it.

I have the cell with 4 blades. Can I buy the one with 7 blades so that my pool has more chlorine or the cell lasts longer?

We recommend purchasing the replacement with the same number of blades as your original cell. The motherboard (the computer) of your chlorinator is factory configured to work with a specific amperage (e.g. 16 g/h for 4 blades). If you install a 7-blades cell without entering the hidden technical menu of the machine to reconfigure it, the machine will show a calibration error and will not work properly.

Is the cell difficult to install? Do I need a technician?

No, it is a very simple process. Just turn off the pump, close the stopcocks, unscrew the old cell, disconnect the wires and insert the new one. It is important that the terminals are tightened securely to prevent them from overheating.

Do I have to change the pool water to put in a new cell?

It is not necessary to change the water unless the level of Stabiliser or total salts (TDS) is excessively high. What is mandatory is to balance the pH between 7.2 and 7.4 before turning on the new cell, as the electrolysis process tends to naturally raise the pH.
