How does the system work with panels, inverter and battery?
Photovoltaic panels generate direct current from sunlight. The inverter converts it into alternating current usable by the pool and home equipment. When battery power is available, excess energy during peak sunshine hours is stored for later use, e.g. at night or during a power outage.
Do I always need a battery?
No, the battery is optional in the 6 kWc and 9 kWc kits. Without a battery, the system operates in direct self-consumption: solar production is used in real time when the pool is running. The battery increases the autonomy and the percentage of solar energy used.
Is the investment profitable?
Profitability depends on the price of electricity, the hours of sunshine in the area and the consumption profile. ApolloHub kits are sized to achieve an estimated return on investment of around 3 years, thanks to the reduction of the electricity bill associated with the pool and the use of surplus energy in the home.
What happens if I produce more than I consume?
If there is no battery, the surplus can be discharged to the grid (according to the regulations and the surplus compensation contract). With a battery, the system prioritizes storing surplus energy and releasing it later to maximize self-consumption.
Can I power the pool alone?
Yes, the system can be configured to be dedicated exclusively to the pool or integrated with the home’s main switchboard. Your installer will size the scheme according to your needs.
What is the useful life of the equipment?
As a guideline, the solar panels have a warranty of up to 25 years, the inverter has several years of manufacturer’s warranty and the battery, when installed, has an expected life of about 10 years, provided that the conditions of use and installation indicated by the manufacturer are respected.
