Low salinity salt chlorination produces, in addition to pure chlorine, other types of disinfectants thanks to hydrolysis, a process in which water is decomposed by the combination of electrolysis and mineral conductivity in the water.<\/p>\n

The electric current separates the water molecules (H2O) into hydrogen and oxygen. This generates oxygen ions at the anode and hydrogen ions at the cathode. That is, the atoms are separated from the water.
